Recently, I had the absolute privilege of attending UNIVS Young Adults QLD — a life-changing event hosted at Hillsong Church Brisbane City Campus. The night was filled with passionate worship, powerful messages, and a room overflowing with young adults hungry for more of God.
The night was hosted by Ryan Germain, the UNIVS YA Director of QLD, and we were blessed to hear from two phenomenal preachers:

Nathan Finochio, a semi-famous pastor and theologian from Hillsong Church USA, who brought a message that stirred deep thought and a call back to Biblical clarity,

and Cody Byrne, Senior Pastor of Tribes Church in Perth, Australia, whose message was raw, real, and filled with Holy Spirit conviction.
I went with my good friend Sophie Pickford, and together we were deeply moved and challenged by the messages spoken. We spent time reflecting on what was preached — not just talking about it, but letting it settle into our hearts. It was a space where iron sharpened iron, and where the Spirit of God was undeniably present.
One quote I wrote down after the night perfectly captures what I felt:
"To be in a room full of hungry people of God — especially young adults — was such a powerful experience. And for sure, I’ll be doing it again next year. Sophie and I both have grown from this experience. I was moved to tears during the service because of the presence of the Holy Spirit I felt in that moment. Especially feeling so distant from God recently, it was so good to encounter Him again and to feel His agape love — the love He has not only gifted me, but everyone else in the world. Definitely a time that will not be forgotten."
As someone who’s been wrestling with feeling distant from God lately, this event was more than just a "night out" — it was an encounter. It reminded me that no matter how far we drift, God’s love always pulls us back, gently and powerfully. And seeing other young adults like me, worshipping, crying, praying — reminded me that revival isn’t far off. It’s already happening.
If you ever get the chance to go to UNIVS or a similar young adults gathering — do it. You won’t leave the same.
